Three Minute Research Video Contest (3MVP)

The Office of Student Research and Innovation is supporting the 2^nd Annual three-minute research and scholarly activity video presentation (3MVP). Students should work with a faculty sponsor to submit their videos following the below criteria. A group of faculty and staff will evaluate the videos using a rubric to determine the winners who will receive a monetary prize for their video ranging between $100 to $500 depending on the number of submissions.

Video criteria

• Deadline for submission is March 31, at 4:30 p.m.
• Complete this form.
• Film in MP4 or .MOV formats.
• Please begin your video with your name, rank and major
• Example: “Hi, my name is Chad Brooks and I’m a senior majoring in Biology.”
• Your video must not exceed three-minutes (180 seconds).
• Your research or scholarly activity must involve your education at APSU.
• You must submit the 3MVP application when you submit your video to the Google Dropbox weblink: https://www.dropbox.com/request/s3Z4oC0TgQeRloU3IBoL

Scoring Criteria (points are awarded for the following)

• Clear and compelling expression of message (aka, the video was fun to watch).
• Educational (aka, we learned something).
• APSU spirit (aka, we are proud to be an Austin Peay Governor!).
• Wow! Factor (aka, that is an amazing project!).

• Who may I contact with questions?

• How many people can win?
  • This is yet to be determined and will be impacted by the number of videos submitted for the competition.
• How much can someone win?
  • Participants can win anywhere between $100-$500 for their video submission. The official amount will be determined at a later date and will be based on the amount of the submissions received for the contest.
• When will I know if I win?
  • We anticipate selecting winners by the first Friday in May. 
• If I win, how do I collect my prize?
  • You can pick up the prize check from the APSU cashier located on the first floor, south side of Ellington. Or, we can mail it to you. Or, if you have a direct deposit on file with APSU, we can simply add the money to your account.
• What if I don’t want my video viewed by anyone outside of APSU?
  • Sorry, we cannot guarantee what happens to video content once posted on APSU’s website.
